PHHWV SAM

PHHWV Sam was lucky enough to go straight into long term care from surrender. He is settling in to his new home in Lancefield. He is not much in to hooning around, being 33 years old, but he is quite content to potter around.
MORNINGTON PET AND PONY EXPO, ROSEBUD

This event was a great success. A huge thank you to Emma-Jayne Green and everyone else who helped out.
UPDATE ON PHHWV JACK

Here is a recent photo of Jack out in Nyora. He is good, we had the farrier a few days ago and some worm paste... Yuk! I had to leave his feet a bit longer over winter due to the amount of mud. I've never seen it so wet up here! I didn't want him picking up an abscess. Unfortunately both the horses developed a "Dreadlock" in their mane's but I will wait until I can spend some time to unravel them as opposed to cutting them off. We have been very busy and I haven't had time to make him Beautiful for his Annual Mug Shot, so there he is in all his Camping-out Glory!!
UPDATE ON PHHWV DESTINY AND PHHWV JEAN
Jean and her 7 month old foal Destiny came from Jeparit in October. Despite time spent with Jeparit locals, Jean had not found a home as she was still fearful of people and distrustful. A PHHWV member in Tylden has given them a short term home - they can enjoy a paddock, take time to know people, and other horses nearby who trust people contact.
Destiny and Jean both are showing the benefit of the Tylden grass, starting to look brighter. With some trepidation (moving outside their paddock was scary!) they crossed recently to a new paddock where there are small yards, and are with an old well handled mare. Jean is particularly cautious but seemed to want company.

UPDATE ON PHHWV JET, PHHWV PENNY AND PHHWV JILL
Penny--Have been lungeing and long reining her. She can be a bit nappy when going away from her mates and so a friend is going to come and lend a hand with her education. Penny has become used to me and is a pleasure to have around.
Jet--Did not like to lounge and tried all sorts of tricks to avoid going into the arena, but I was smarter. Since then I have taken the arena apart because I needed the materials for strip grazing. (grass is growing fast) I now lunge her in a circle in the stable yard. She likes this better. When my friend comes out to assist with Penny I will also get her to help with Jet. She is also a pleasure to have around.
Jill-Walks slow but is willing to learn. We go up and down the driveway (picture attached) around the trees and she stops on command and comes backwards. I hope that in the next month I will have her so used to the traffic that I can put her to the cart.
