Ever since I was a small child I was obsessed with horses - throughout the years I have been given many gifts, cards and clothing with horses adorning every inch!
After driving my parents INSANE for a number of years - I was given my first pony for my ninth birthday when my family moved to a small hobby farm in the Yarra Valley, east of Melbourne.
As a horse owner who has just been through the sad process of having my beloved childhood pony Taffy put to sleep after many years of wonderful friendship, I am passionate about educating people about how to care for their pet - particularly in the twigh-light years!
Along the way I have also hand raised and trained my own horse, competed in shows, attended pony club & trail riding events and am now a member of my local adult riders club. I collect all things equine and can lay claim to a solid antique leather horse and half a fibreglass horse (the front end of course!) from a 1940's merry-go-round!
In the past few years whilst I have been studying and working away from home, I have come to the conclusion that horses have become such an integral part of who I am and a wonderful addition to my life. As a result I am passionate about their health, happiness and future. There is so much we as owners can do to improve the quality of life of our horses, I am keen to learn all I can & help to educate others along the way.
