Background: Friday’s Pay came into Project Hope Horse Welfare’s care along with three paddock companions after being impounded by Hume Council. The group were repeatedly escaping through inadequate fencing and wandering onto local roads, posing a danger to themselves and the community.
The previous owner, who had purchased all four horses from Gumtree for just $1, declined to reclaim them. It’s clear these horses have been neglected for some time and are in need of significant care and attention.
Current Status: Friday’s Pay is currently settling into care with one of our experienced handlers who is conducting a thorough evaluation. He’s undergoing health checks and assessments to determine his physical condition, temperament, and future needs.
As a young Thoroughbred who never made it to the track, Friday’s Pay has his whole life ahead of him. We’re taking the time to get to know him properly and address any health or behavioural issues resulting from his period of neglect.
What’s Next: We’ll be updating Friday’s Pay’s profile as we learn more about his personality, soundness, and suitability for rehoming. For now, he needs time, patience, and proper care to help him recover from his difficult start.
