Where Are They Now?

Born in 2015 this little pony x mare came into Project Hope care.

She is currently living a great life with one of our members and has been out on the trails.

Abella is a Qtr horse X mare with a beautiful bay coat and standing at 14.3hh.

Coming into Project Hope care, Abella has now found herself in a lovely long term care home with Sharon as a companion horse.

Sharon tells us that Abella is a real sweetie, super clever and very curious and she just loves her treats.

15hh Amie is a Chestnut thoroughbred mare.

In 2016 Amie was surrendered to Project Hope and was lucky enough to find a long term carer Tara.

She no longer has to race and can enjoy her days out in the field.

Amiira is a bay Arabian mare standing at approximately 14.2hh and believed to be in her late teens.

Her past is largely unknown. She is wary of people and quite flighty.

Thanks to a PH member Amiira has now found her long term care home.

Applejack is a mixed breed mare standing at 12.2hh and a chestnut coat with a blaze down her nose and a flaxen mane.

Apples as she is informally known has taken a while to find her long term carer and she is now with Mark and no doubt being spoilt.

HOME FOUND

Little is known of his history. He has had little handling for the past 6 years, was initially underweight, infested with lice and wary of people – especially being approached past his head or from above.
His first hoof trims, teeth float, vet check and vaccinations have all been completed.
Furthermore, he has gained weight well. Since settling in has become accustomed to other animals, nearby traffic, the carer and some other people.

Aster is gentle but nervous, and he seems to have some knowledge / memory of basic groundwork. He can now be easily caught and groomed, and he leads and ties up well.
He has been good with the farrier on two occasions but still consolidating the handling of his back legs.
Aster is curious and calm with other horses. He has a kind nature and is a fast learner. 
With improving connections it is possible for him to be calm with people in general rather than only with his main carer.
He is comfortable in his body and bright and alert. 

Aurelia is 12 – 13hh brown mare pony.

Her carer Elizabeth describes her as easy going to look after, she never gets injured, never has anything go wrong and she’s just an amazing pony.

Aurora is a Thoroughbred X Welsh pony mare standing at 15hh and a lovely brown coat with a blaze running down her nose.

She has recently had an acute case of laminitis and her vet and farrier have decided some shoes might help with the thin soles.

Axl is a Qtr horse X TB gelding with a bay coat and standing at 15hh.

He is just the sweetest boy.

Aztec is a Thoroughbred bay gelding of 15hh.

He never raced and was left abandoned, Project Hope picked him from a local Shire.

Aztec now gets to spend his days eating hay.

Banjo is 10hh black gelded miniature.

He came into Project Hope with neglected feet and his short term carer and farrier got to work.

Banjo now is out pain lives with 3 other tiny ponies.

Beamer is a black gelded miniature.

He spends his days with 2 other Project Hope horses Georgia & Peanut

Belgrave is Thoroughbred gelding with chestnut colour and 17hh.

He is new comer to Project Hope and is enjoying being given a second chance.

Belle is a 15hh mare Paint horse.

She came into Project Hope back in 2015 and enjoys her days with carer Bec. 

Bentley is 16.2hh Clydesdale X bay gelding.

He spends his time with 3 other Project Hope horses as a companion.

Bert is a dark brown / black 8.2hh gelded Shetland.

Black Swan is a sweet little Shetland mare. She can be quite nervous and jumpy, however once she knows you are safe, she will demand all of the scritches! 

Black Swan was surrendered in 2022, and after a couple of false starts, she is now enjoying life with her new Long Term Carer as well as Fifi, Pete and their herd.

Boss is a12.2hh gelded  liver chestnut Australian Pony.

He was registered with a fancy name Mystic Park Tiny Dancer but unfortunately was left abandoned on council land.

Boss now enjoys his time with carer Loretta.

Buck stands around the 15.5hh and is gelded Buckskin Stockhorse.

At 25 years old, Buck is one of our older horses in care.

Bunny is a 9hh black gelded mini Shetland.

This does not stop him trying to get to the feed.

Campaspe isa 15.3hh TBxSB brown gelding.

He came into Project Hope with little known of his skills.

With some training accomplished he is now doing well as a ridden horse.

Candy is a 13hh chestnut mare Australian Pony.

She has a beautiful blaze running down her face.

Caramel is a 13.3hh mixed breed mare with chestnut taffy colouring.

She is full of life and joy to have around.

Casper is a Qtr horse X gelding who stands 15hh with grey coat.

He has just recently had some eye surgery and is doing great.

Cedrick is a 16hh Grey gelded Standardbred.

He was extremely underweigh when he arrived at Project Hope but is now on his way back.

Tender loving care, lots of feed and a bath all help.

Charcoal is a 13.2hh gelded grey Welsh Pony X.

He spends his time with 3 other Project Hope horses, Echo, Bentley & LuLu

Cisco is a gelded chestnut X Breed.

He has a lovely white blaze and spends his time with another PH horse Doc and carer Chryssa.

Cleopatra is a 14.2hh grey Arab mare.

She recently moved homes into long term care and now enjoys time with carer Sarah.

Cressy is Standardbred X bay mare standing at 14.3hh.

She was surrendered along with 4 other horses and now has a home with Shan.

Crumpet is an 8hh gelded mini Shetland with Chestnut / Paint markings.

And isn’t he just a little crumpet.

Dakota is gelded 10hh Palamino Shetland.

He spends his days being a therapy horse for people.

Destiny is brown mare Mini horse who stands at 10hh.

Introducing Digger is a 12hh, age TBC  .
We are considering her  to be trained under saddle very soon – once we have all the details complete about her readiness.  
She is a friendly pony that will greet you in the paddock.
Digger is a blank canvas that has a bright future ahead of her.  

DJ is a Thoroughbred bay gelding standing at 16hh.

Dock is 16.2hh Thoroughbred bay gelding.

Domino stands at 9hh and is a Mini mare with Piebald coat.

Recently surrendered in 2023 she has found a home with Hayley.

Dynamite is 16hh gelded brown Thoroughbred.

Echo is a gelded brown Thoroughbred standing at 15.2hh.

Fanta is a Welsh Cob mare with bay colouring standing at 12hh.

Fifi is a sassy little Queen who loves carrots, tossing her mane, playing Houdini and demanding scratches.

Fifi was surrendered in 2023, and has been with her Long Term Carer since. She is joined by Pete and Black Swan.

Flicka is a 8hh black Shetland mare.

She is loved to bits and also keeps as a companion for and Irish Sport Horse.

Flukey stands at 14.2hh and is a Chestnut Roan Paint mare.

Freddie is bay gelded Mixed pony standing at 13.2hh.

Free Spirit is a 14.3hh gelded American Tobiana Qtr horse with Paint colours.

Fudge is a gelded Welsh X Australian Pony with buckskin colour who stands at 12hh.

Gambian is 16.3hh gelded Chestnut Thoroughbred.

Gandalf is just 7hh Miniature grey gelding.

Gina Hanover is a Standardbred bay mare standing at 16hh.

Ginger is 10hh Chestnut Roan gelded Shetland X.

He is now the ripe old age of 20 years.

Goose is a gelded Chestnut with flaxen mane Welsh B X who stands at 14.1hh.

Gunslinger stands at 9.3hh and is a gelded mixed breed with liver bay coat.

Hank stands at 13hh Chestnut gelding Quarter horse.

He was a twin and was born with disabilities, he has a wonky leg and wither, he mobilses himself quite well but not in a straight line.

Hank spends his days being a companion to a Warmblood.

Harmony is Arab X Chestnut mare standing at 14hh.

She is a companion horse to PH Ava.

Honey II is Australian Pony / Sheltland X mare and stands at 10hh with dark brown coat.

Hooby is a Thoroughbred mare with bay colouring and stands at 15.2hh.

Ivanna is bay Warmblood mare standing at 15hh.

Jack is brown / black Shetland gelding standing at 10hh.

He is a companion pony with PH Joey.

Jane is a Mixed pony mare with dark bay colouring standing at 14hh.

Jill is a 10hh black Shetland mare.

Joey is a black / brown Standardbred gelding standing at 15.3hh.

Lady is a Quarter horse mare standing at 14.3hh with bay colouring.

She is ridden regularly and a great companion to Marie.

Laine is a bay Thoroughbred mare standing at 15.2hh.

Licorice is a 14hh bay mare of mixed breed.

Louis is a12.3hh Chestnut Taffy gelded Australian Pony.

Lux is a 9hh Appaloosa gelded Mini.

HOME FOUND

Introducing Maggie May, a 12-year-old, 13.2hh Bay/Taffy pony mare. 

Maggie May has been with us since March 2019, and we got her as a non-ridden companion pony. 

In that time, she has been the perfect companion pony. Happy to be kept in a paddock with other horses, but just as happy to be in her own paddock.
She also has no issues when the other horse has been removed from her paddock, or when horses are taken away from the property for periods of time, or even if a couple of others have been taken away, and she is completely alone. 
She is very good to get her feet and teeth done, and we worm her every three months.
She can be a little wary around the top of her head if it is being touched, but you can put a halter on her and also a fly veil with no issues.
Furthermore, she loves cuddles and of course, loves treats!
Maggie May does have a back injury from before she came to live with us, which is the main reason we were told she is not to be ridden.
She does occasionally get a stiff movement in her back legs after standing for a while but once she takes a step or two the stiffness disappears, and this has never seemed to cause her any discomfort. 

Mary is a 8hh black Mini Sheltand mare.

Introducing  MaySu is a 12hh grey pony mare.
Her age is unknown at present, but will be determined upon dental check.
She enjoys interacting with people and is comfortable being handled, including having her feet picked up.
MaySu has only recently come into care and will shortly be having her feet done and a vet examination.

Midnight is 16hh black gelded Thoroughbred

Milo is adark grey gelded Mixed breed standing at 14hh.

Mimi at 16.1hh is a black bay Clydesdale X mare.

Miss Mary is 15.2hh bright bay mare Standarbred.

Molly Mule is 14hh white female mule.

Neddy is 9hh black gelded Mini Shetland.

Home Found
Introducing Netty is a 15-year-old 15hh Bay Clydie X mare.

She  is progressing with her rehabilitation while losing some weight, and she has all her health needs attended to – dental/farrier etc.  
Netty went to be assessed  and is  being a managed as a green-started horse despite her being started somewhere in her life.
Good on ground and very responsive to voice.
Need to consolidate the bridling and work under saddle.
It appears that she was not mouthed correctly at the start and this is being addressed by the trainer.
Certainly a lovely mare that has a future with a knowledgeable home. 

Olivia is 13.2hh White Welsh Pony mare.

She spends her days helping at Riding Disabled Australia.

Opal is 14hh bay brown Arab X mare.

Patches is a11hh gelded Paint Shetland.

Peanut is 7.3hh Chestnut Mini mare.

Perri is 16.3hh bay gelded Thoroughbred.

Pete is an aged mini gelding, who unfortunately has lost most of his sight, as well as having some conformational defaults. 

Surrendered with Fifi in 2023, he has been given the chance to live out his winter years doing what he wants (or at least what Fifi lets him do).

Phoenix is a 15hh black gelded Stock horse X Thoroughbred.

Pirate isa black gelded Pony standing at 11.3hh.

Pocket is a 16.1hh bay gelded Thoroughbred.

Presto is a 9hh brown and white gelded Mini Shetland.

Rain stands at 14hh and a brown Thoroughbred mare.

Rascal is a 10hh grey gelded Shetland X.

Red II is 15.3 gelded Chestnut Thoroughbred.

Rennie is 8.2hh Pinto Mini mare.

Rosie is a Chestnut Thoroughbred mare standing at 15hh

Rozie is a 15hh gelded Chesnut Pony Mixed breed.

Sabrina is a 14.2hh bay mare Clydie / Appaloosa X.

Sadie is 15hh bay mare Thoroughbred.

Sapphire is 14.1hh Paint mare

Scamp is a 12.2hh dapple grey gelded Arab pony X.

Shakisma is an Arab mare with Chesnut colouring and flaxen mane standing at 14hh.

She was with Project Hope for many years and truly loved before she passed.

She has been with Project Hope for many years and has now passed over.

Silver is a 14.3 grey gelded Arab.

28 years young.

Introducing Skittles is a 14.3hh chestnut Arabian gelding estimated to be around 10 years old.
His level of training and education is completely unknown.
He wants to trust, but is quite nervous.

Snag is a 14hh gelded Chesnut Quarter horse.

Sonny is 13.2hh gelded Chesnut Australian pony.

Spike is 14hh and a gelded Buckskin mixed pony.

He moved with his carers to Queensland.

Sunday is a 11hh black Pony X mare.

Sweet Honesty is 14.3hh gelded chestnut Arabian X.

Ted-e-bear is 8hh black gelded Mini Shetland.

Thatcher is an 11hh mixed breed bay mare.

Tiny is a 14.3hh bay mare Thoroughbred.

Tommy Lee is a Quarter horse X gelded chestnut standing at 15hh.

In April 2024 Tommy Lee passed over. xx

Trevor is a little TB Gelding who is now a one eyed gentleman. 

Trevor was surrendered in 2025, underweight and with a festering eye. Once he gained some weight and underwent his enucleation surgery, he was able to travel to his new Long Term Home where he will be able to live out his retirement with a lovely herd of geldings.

Turbo has found his loving long term care home, where he will receive all the care and love that he will ever need.

William is a gelded white brown Shetland.

Wynstan is a 15.2hh dark brown gelded mixed breed.

Xena is Roan Appaloosa mare standing at 14.2hh.

Zack is a 9hh Skewbald gelded Miniature
