Meet Alby – A New Beginning

Alby is a little stallion who came into our care alongside his devoted paddock companion, Polly. These two were surrendered by an owner who, despite their best intentions, found themselves without the knowledge or resources needed to provide proper care for the pair.

Thanks to the compassion and gentle inquiry of one of our members who took the time to understand their situation, Alby and Polly’s owner was able to make the difficult but loving decision to surrender them. It was clear how much this decision meant to them, and their gratitude was deeply heartfelt.

Now safe in our care, Alby is scheduled to be gelded in line with Project Hope Horse Welfare’s no breed policy, which will help him become a great companion. We’re also having Polly examined to determine if she may be in foal, as the pair have been together for some time.

Alby may be small in stature, but he’s shown us he has a big heart. He and Polly remain inseparable, and we’re committed to keeping these bonded friends together as they begin their new chapter. With proper care, training, and time, Alby will have the opportunity to thrive in ways that weren’t possible before.

This little stallion’s story is a reminder that sometimes the greatest act of love is knowing when to ask for help – and that there’s no shame in doing so. We’re honored to give Alby and Polly the fresh start they deserve.

How to lease a horse

We do not sell horses or adopt them out, they remain a Project Hope horse. This is of great benefit to the new owner and the welfare of the horse.
