Meet Jock, the newest member of Project Hopes rehabilitation program. Initially a little shy, he has now gaining confidence and, at 16.3 hh, this gentle giant is winning hearts with his kind and accepting nature. Jock showed impressive patience during his initial farrier visit and during his dental which revealed a good mouth and set of teeth.  Jock had a full bodywork session and the practitioner’s report commented “Jock was very well behaved and a pleasure to work with” and recommended light lunging to build some topline muscle.

Jock is ticking all the boxes in terms of groundwork. He is quite playful and particularly enjoys free lunge work. He was raced when younger but ,as yet, a ridden assessment has not been undertaken. However, there seem to be no impediments to him being ridden although he would need an experienced home to bring him back into work. Currently our carers are working with him as he is a little nervous about going on the 2HSL float. He has however, been transported in a stock crate.

Jock is sociable and has been paddocked with other geldings, making friends quite easily.

As our carers get to know Jock better, we’re sure to discover more about his loveable personality, but one thing is clear – he’s a kind soul with a heart of gold. Stay tuned for updates on this lovely lad. Located in West Wimmera. You can see how Jock came into our care and the incredible improvements he has made – thanks you to the amazing carer and CEN Nutrition .

We do not sell horses or adopt them out, they remain a Project Hope horse. This is of great benefit to the new owner and the welfare of the horse.
