Introducing Rudy a 20 year -old, 15.1hh, Chestnut Thoroughbred, gelding.
Recently surrendered from a well meaning but inexperienced home. He is currently undergoing the initial stages of his rehabilitation.
Rudy has had a thourough vet and dental check along with farrier work . It was evident that there are a few years of catching up to do with managing an older horse.
His FEC was very high 2320 Strongyles. His eye was quite cloudy.
There is an ulcer to the right eye with a small section of cornea that is lifting.
This will require treatment with ointment 3 times daily and will have a revisit to trim the excess corneal tissue. Sheath cleaned and bean removed.
Several small feeds per day along with a 5-day course of drenching will have him on the way up.
He is with one of our very hands on short term carers that is giving him all the care and company he needs.
We are keen to see Rudy transition to horse that will still have so much more to live for.
Rudy will be available once he has all the assessments finalised and given the ok to re home under our Long Term Lease Agreement.
Located in the City of Ballarat area.

How to lease a horse

We do not sell horses or adopt them out, they remain a Project Hope horse. This is of great benefit to the new owner and the welfare of the horse.
