Introducing Tilt a 14 year old  Bay Thoroughbred gelding.

He has just started his rehab and here is what we know so far.

Tilt is a lovely gentleman with a heart of gold who deserves a second chance, he shows tremendous potential for the right person willing to give him the best opportunity to have a great life. Sadly Tilt’s paddock friend of some 8 years had to be PTS , so Tilt has had to have a lot of adjustments in a short period of time including complete change of environment. Here is what his carer has to say – I hope he gets a really lovely home where someone will spend the time with him , he really is a lovely horse .”

What You Should Know

Tilt has some gaps in his foundation training that offer opportunities to help him understand:

  • Handling: He needs patient guidance during routine care
  • Float loading: Currently finds floating a process to understand
  • Veterinary care: Requires patience for worming
  • Feet handling:  he hasn’t been taught to stand politely for the farrier
  • Mouthiness: Can be a bit nippy, though this is being worked on

The Positives

Despite his learning journey ahead, Tilt has many wonderful qualities:

  • Easy to rug
  • Loves grooming and attention
  • Responsive to consistent, kind handling
  • Shows willingness to learn with the right approach

Ideal Home

Tilt needs an experienced handler who:

  • Has the time and patience to provide proper foundation training
  • Can provide consistent groundwork
  • Understands that his behavior issues are training gaps, not malice
  • Is committed to building a trusting partnership from the ground up

With the right person, Tilt has wonderful potential. He truly is a lovely horse  who just needs someone to show him the way.

Tilt will be  receiving dental care and ongoing assessment. Updates will be provided as we learn more about this special boy.

How to lease a horse

We do not sell horses or adopt them out, they remain a Project Hope horse. This is of great benefit to the new owner and the welfare of the horse.
