Keeping track of our horses

We do not sell horses or adopt them out, they remain a Project Hope horse. This is of great benefit to the new owner and the welfare of the horse. For example, should an owner’s circumstances change, and they can no longer care for their Project Hope horse, they can contact us and we will rehome the horse.

We take the utmost care to perfectly match our horses and ponies with their new owner to ensure all are set for a happy, long and bright future together.

How to lease a horse

An expression of interest form sent in to us will get the process started. This is a comprehensive form that informs Project Hope of what land, paddock, agistment etc that you have available. We ask many questions ranging from your experience, what you can provide whether that be companions to facilities. If you have a preference to a particular horse, riding or companion.

Fill in the form online and submit EOI form online or Download the form, fill out and email: info@phhwv.org.au

A visit to meet and greet the horse prior to any lease being initiated, gives you the chance to make sure that you are confident in your decision to take them home.

You become a member for as long as the horse is in your care. In addition we ensure you are able to offer the following:

  • Proper care such as regular worming, vaccinations, feet and teeth care, a safe environment and, veterinary care when needed.
  • You can cover all costs involved in caring for a horse.
  • Regular updates and pictures (no less than annually) about the life of your horse or pony. These stories may be featured on Project Hope’s Facebook, website or other media (with privacy protected)
  • Keep Project Hope informed of the horse or ponies address.
  • Mares will not be bred with.

Meeting these requirements protects the welfare of the horse and provides support to the owner.

We provide a thorough health and personality profile for you and can arrange for you to meet our equine friend/s.

If you are looking for a horse or pony, get in touch, we may have the perfect match.
